Guys really sorry for the delay on Episode 36, recorded at Easter. I bought a Mac, and during the episode I said to Dave (stupidly in hindsight), I've got a Mac now, so this episode will come out twice as fast.

Famous last words.

My brand new, one-month old Mac died during the edit, and went into Apple Support to be fixed. Two long weeks later they replaced my Mac, and thankfully recovered the show from my hard disk.

So today, I picked up the Mac, finished the edit and am getting it out to you. Show notes to come later.

Enjoy this episode!

Woollymittens is coming to town and Two Schooners is quite underprepped, for this handcrafted bar-bound episode.
Global warming iceberg wranglers, wayward beer couriers, big messy jobs and industrial-strengh irrigation – it’s all about variety on this episode of Two Schooners. Pull up a stool and make yourself at home while we also discuss movember’s facial hair and learn how Dave’s scrub turkey took a mandatory rest-break. Once again, the lids come off and the amber ale flows (again all over Dave’s mixer), there’s just too much fun to be had as we career head long into Christmas on Episode 31 of Two Schooners where it’s all about the Effen Beer!

MELBOURNE PODCAST MEETUP (DECEMBER 12th):
SATURDAY 12 DECEMBER, 5pm at the Riverland Bar down by the river behind Federation Square. Meet James from 2Schooners and Podcasters’ Emporium and Cait from the Aussie Geek Podcast and your fellow listeners. Follow @jameswilliams90 and @cait on twitter for updates – hope to see you there.

Nothing is sacred, except the liquid amber as the duo of schooners arrive and Dave and James settle in behind the mics to let rip at 'stoopids' everywhere. Pull up a stool and join us at the bar with a coldie and a packet of Nobby's nuts as we try to work out whether Google does indeed have an answer to everything.
Meat Ants, Random Sheep and 15 Cubic Metres of Concrete - there's all manner of discussion on this week's Two Schooners including a 'special' visit from The Herne who happened to be up at 3am in Canada when we recorded this week. Dropped from a great height, and landing smack-bang in the middle of your weekend this episode of Two Schooners guarantees a laugh, if only at Herne and his mad stalking antics. We also feature a musical treat from Groovezilla as Dave nips out to take a slash mid-show. Yes folks we have it all! This is Two Schooners. Don't forget to Tweet that you're listening (if you dare!)

It's rare that any show hosts don't have the ability to meet in person, but that's exactly the situation that two Lifestyle PodNetwork co-hosts find themselves in - but that is all about to change.

It’s rare that podcast hosts don’t have the ability to meet in person, but that’s exactly the situation that two successful Lifestyle PodNetwork co-hosts found themselves in – but that is all about to change.

In 2008, Dave Gray (a podcaster since 2006) and James Williams, founder of the Lifestyle PodNetwork decided to collaborate on a podcast project together, it was meant to be a small comedy show called Two Schooners.

While they both live in Australia, they live about 700 kilometres apart: James in Sydney and Dave on the far north coast of New South Wales. Both are keen podcasters and technology enthusiasts and so they turned to the technology to help them produce their show.

With several years of podcasting experience under their belts, the two decided on doing a weekly comedy show over Skype – what’s more, they would have never met in person. That is, until today.

The Two Schooners podcast has amazed both co-hosts since the beginning.

“We thought we’d give it a crack, and even if we only had ourselves listening it would be fun!” explained Dave Gray.

But the two were surprised at the immediate response the show received.

“The show amazed us when we had 50 listeners, and now with several hundred downloads of the show each week and many hundeds of listeners, we know it’s successful”

Whatever the formula is for these two it seems to work, and it crosses cultural boundaries as well.

“It always amazes me that two guys in Australia can be interesting to listeners from the United States, Canada, the UK and even non-english speaking countries like Belgium, Sweden and Luxemburg” said Dave Gray.

And so tonight, for the first time these two co-hosts from Australia get to meet in Sydney for the first time. Listeners of show are meeting the hosts at where else – but a pub. The Bavarian Bier Cafe, to be precise.

Well not everything can be about Australia, can it?

———————————————————————————-

About Two Schooners:

Two Australian guys at the bar solving the problems of the world with an icy-cold beer in hand. That’s the basic premise of Two Schooners. Join Dave and James each week as they review the insanity of the week that was. No topic is off-limits as the hosts down a beer and engage in tomfoolery and shennanigans and take their listeners along for the ride. Listeners participate in the show by adding their stories to ‘the bag’ of things to be discussed in the next show.

Dave Gray is a veteran podcaster and all round good guy. He is the host of the successful technical podcast The Aussie Geek Podcast, which rates frequently in the top 50 Tech News podcasts in the iTunes store. Dave hosts Two Schooners and Podcasters’ Emporium on the Lifestyle PodNetwork.

James Williams is the host and producer of numerous programs on the network including Podcasters’ Emporium, Two Schooners and Lifestyle Chill. In 2008, James founded the Lifestyle PodNetwork to create a network for independent podcasters – linking audiences with great podcast content.
