US spending on podcast-related advertising (including sponsorships) will rise to $435 million in 2012, up from $165 million in 2007

The number of active podcast downloaders will increase to 25 million people by 2012 (2007: 6.5 million)

The report attributes current growth to adoption by terrestrial radio, easy availability of players and ease of access to podcasts.

eMarketer also expects an increase in advertising and sponsorship spend on podcast related activities over this period, up frmo $165 million in 2007 to $435 million in 2012.
